Year 4 and their Tudor Biscuit Masterpieces!
Today Year 4 enjoyed making Tudor Rose and Tudor House biscuits!
No – the recipe was not from Tudor times, but we’re pretty sure King Henry would have enjoyed them! The children also each made a Tudor Bakery to put their biscuits in. A great day was had by all – you just can’t beat a bit of good old fun and learning at the same time! x

Outdoor Fun!

Year 4 Outdoor Fun Day!

On Friday we had a fantastic day in the school grounds, making shelters and cooking on an open fire – just like living in Chembakolli!

The children had great fun and learnt lots of new skills  (and shared their toasted marshmallows and crumpets with me!)

Half Term Homework!

For your half term homework please log on to Education City and complete the tasks in Literacy, Numeracy and Science.
I would also like you to decide whether you want to make a collage of Henry VIII or one of his wives and begin collecting scrap pieces of fabric or anything else that you could use to make their clothing – sequins, wool, fur, foil, cotton wool, pasta, seeds, dried pulses, string, rope, lace etc.
Please bring anything you collect to school on Monday 13th June.
Thank you

Holiday Homework!

Next term we will be studying Henry VIII and his 6 wives for our History topic. Over the holiday I would like you to carry out some research of your own and find out some information about Henry VIII:
QUESTIONS:
1. When was Henry VIII King of England?
2. What was this period of History known as?
3. What were the names of his 6 wives?
4. What happened to each of his wives?
5. Which religion did Henry VIII believe in?
6. Which palace in England did he live in?
7. When did he die and from what?
8. Draw and colour a picture of Henry VIII to stick in at the front of your topic book (A4 size)\

If you wish to do any further research on him then please do.

Please bring all your research and your drawing to school on Monday 18th April.

World Book Day

Don’t forget World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March!
Come dressed as your favourite character from a book – the best one may get a prize!!!
If you have any books by Roald Dahl bring them in to share and to use alongside our classroom activities.

Who do you think I should come as – Willy Wonka or one of the 7 Dwarfs (which one)? Or maybe I could be the 8th dwarf with a new name!!!!!

Education City

Use this link to play Education City games.  Please leave a comment telling me what you have been playing and what scores you get.

As you can see from the photographs the children thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Stockport Air Raid shelter,  where they learned about life in World War II.

Anderson Shelter

Year four are learning about the second world war. Here is a photograph of the Anderson shelter which has been built in the classroom. The children are enjoying experiencing what it must have felt like to go into a shelter.
